CFAO Mobility Zambia, in partnership with World Vision Zambia and Paratus Zambia officially handed over critical educational infrastructure to Mphande Primary School in Kafue’s Chipapa area, marking a significant investment in the future of hundreds of learners.
The project, valued at approximately K4.19 million (US$232,500), includes two newly constructed 1×3 classroom blocks, one refurbished classroom block, two teachers’ houses, an ablution facility, 25 computers, solar power installation and a one-year fully paid internet package. Collectively, these improvements are expected to benefit nearly 500 learners while creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
The infrastructure development was funded by AB CFAO, an association that brings together current and former CFAO employees with a shared commitment to supporting education and healthcare projects across Africa and France. The project was implemented in collaboration with World Vision Zambia, CFAO Mobility Zambia’s long-standing development partner.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, CFAO Mobility Zambia CEO, Dino Bianchi, highlighted the importance of education as a catalyst for national development and community transformation.
“As CFAO, we firmly believe that education is a key driver of individual growth and sustainable societal development,” said Mr. Bianchi. “These initiatives represent a significant step forward in addressing longstanding challenges in rural education, including limited teaching resources and shortages of specialized teachers.”
He noted that the handover represented CFAO’s eighth collaborative project with World Vision Zambia, further strengthening a partnership that has spanned more than a decade and impacted communities across education, water, sanitation and child welfare initiatives.
Connecting Learners to the Digital World
Beyond bricks and mortar, the project introduces a powerful digital learning component designed to expand educational opportunities beyond the classroom.
CFAO Mobility Zambia funded the provision of 25 computers, and the installation of solar power to ensure sustainable access to technology and reliable electricity. Complementing these efforts, Paratus Zambia provided a one-year paid-up internet package through Starlink connectivity, bringing high-speed internet access to a school located beyond the reach of traditional broadband infrastructure.
The introduction of digital connectivity opens new possibilities for learners and teachers alike, enabling access to online educational content, virtual learning resources, digital skills development and broader opportunities while helping to level the playing field so that every child can learn, grow, and succeed regardless of where they live.
Investing in the Future
The handover of Mphande Primary School represents far more than the completion of a construction project. It is an investment in potential, opportunity and the future of Mphande Hills community. Through the combined efforts of AB CFAO, CFAO Mobility Zambia, World Vision Zambia and Paratus Zambia, learners now have access to improved classrooms, better sanitation, dedicated teacher accommodation, renewable energy, digital tools and internet connectivity, resources that will continue to create a positive impact for years to come. As Zambia continues to expand access to education, partnerships such as these play an important role in ensuring that every child, regardless of where they live, has the opportunity to learn, thrive and build a brighter future.
