I don’t know if you still remember me, I was amongst your first customer that purchased the Toyota Rush. So here I am, I have come back for this Hilux because of its multi-purposefulness. The vehicle will be very useful especially that I usually travel long distances. It is stable and perfect for long distances with a good payload of between 800 to about 900 kg. The engine is designed to keep noise levels down. I also must make mention that I had to accessorise the vehicle with a roll bar, nudge bar and a tonner cover, which is a good way of making customers choose what we want.  Talk of its powerful engine performance, I have made the right choice yet again”, he said.

Toyota Zambia is always pleased to share different stories and articles from a customer perspective. Today we were graced by Professor D. Kunda who not only had emphasis on paying attention to detail but explained why he carefully opted to purchase the Toyota Hilux Double Cab with a Canopy.

“As a Professor, at Mulungushi University, I travel a lot to mentor, lecture and also for my own personal travel pursuit. Therefore, the need to purchase a Vehicle befitting the requirements and beneficial for various reason. So then, I researched (don’t ask me how- as he smiles) and decided to purchase the Hilux Double Cab with a Canopy. The Canopy will cover my items such as books etc; kept in the trailer for safety purposes to protect my items from weather conditions such as adverse sunlight or when its windy. My items will not only be hidden or rather covered up, but will not be damaged as well. 

When I saw the Canopy, I noticed the exceptional style and design which perfectly complements the Hilux. Look at how load capacity has been increased just by adding the Canopy. As you have noticed, aging comes with wisdom and I choose this very one to befit my age, not too fancy not to be seen as ‘excited’, however going for performance, efficiency and long term purposes such as accessing genuine parts and coming back for a service where experienced technical staff will work on my Vehicle,” he said. 

The Toyota Hilux engine is designed to keep noise levels down and efficiency up. In fact, the refined sound insulation can make a driver forget that they are driving a pick-up. So what then is Brand admiration? Whan Park, Deborah J. MacInnis, and Andreas B simplified the term as unconditional love for a company -; interesting!

The emotional process that leads to a purchase of a new vehicle starts with a new development in the consumer’s self-image. That is, the buyers see themselves in a new way — as the owners of that new Vehicle which will befit the status in the community.

The more your brand allows, lures, and enriches prospects, arousing their positive emotions and building their trust, love, and respect, the more highly admired it will be and a thus turn a prospect into a customer. An admired brand offers the greatest opportunity for sustainable and profitable growth. A brand that is seen as lacking in even one of the above mentioned three components of brand admiration, will not be regarded as strongly admired. This is what we experienced from Mrs. Grace Kangongo, our delighted customer expressed and shared her ever existing concealed connection with Toyota Brand and in particular- the Fortuner.

“I have always had the love for Toyota as a Brand, with mixed feelings of admiration and envy. Each time I see someone driving the Fortuner I felt content because I had this imaginary thought of being the one behind the driver’s seat. It is amazing how easily I got so distracted each time I saw the Vehicle. The LED head lamps spoke volume to me, it was as if the Fortune’s eyes (headlamps) spoke to me in an undertone. The exterior styling is suitable for any environment – its strong. Let me also take this opportunity to inform you that the Video clip I saw on your Facebook page convinced me that indeed its pulling power is what we (looking at the husband) have always wanted. We have Children and so the space and safety features is an added benefit, she said”.

Well then benefits that entice customers stimulate their emotional senses which evidently enhance Brand Admirations. The brand’s benefits in this case The Toyota Fortuner left the prospect feeling gratified, engaged, entertained and validated convincing her to purchase the Vehicle and thus became a customer. The more the brand provides benefits, the more customers will come to love the brand.

Todays’ article is all about appreciating the love from a Mother. A Mother’s love is unconditional and eternal. When we say that nature is wise, one of the things that we refer to is the bond between Mothers and their children. Undeniably, a Mother’s instinct to protect and instruct children to walk in a way that is acceptable in any society to her offspring is unlimited. In turn off springs adhering to Mother’s guidelines tend to succeed in a more rewarding way.

Team Toyota Zambia experienced such an amazing moment when Ms. Betty Musamba from Mufulira purchased the Hilux Volcano and dedicated the Vehicle to her Mother. What an honourable yet spectacular gift to offer on Mother’s Day which fell on the 12th May 2019.  Ms. Musamba described the gesture as something she has always wanted to do for her Mother. Asked what prompted her to purchase this particular edition, this is what she had to say,

“The Volcano has erupted and given birth to this Manuel Transmission Hilux Edition, hence I believe the reason it is called Hilux Volcano. This Vehicle is Strong, stable unbeatable and erupts comfort in its own way even in difficult terrains. Just like the Volcano, under pressure the magma in the chamber can rise up the main vent which is the central tube through the volcano and comes out on top. We all know that the Volcano is a hole in Earth’s surface through which magma (called lava when it reaches Earth’s surface), hot gases, ash, and rock fragments escape from deep inside the earth and forces its way out. This Vehicle speaks volumes to me, I can relate! I have such an amazing Mother who has always been there for me, saw me through thick and thin, helped me realise that achievements don’t just come by default, it is through hard work. There was no point in time I felt lonely, for I had a pillar of a Mother, as you can see she is always by my side guiding and instruction me in ways I should walk and work even harder. Just like a Volcano I have erupted or what you might refer to as evolved and worked so hard and managed to present this special gift to My Dearest Mother from the bottom of my chamber – the heart.  I would not have been here purchasing this ‘Hilux Volcano’ had it not been for her consistent reminders of reaping comes only with hard work coupled with the unceasing love from a Mother. Mom, this is for you, spare your bicycle and ride with me into this Hilux Volcano for it is through you I have managed to purchase the Vehicle, lastly I give all the glory and thanks to God for giving me such a wonderful Mother”.

Decisions with regards to household purchases, especially for expensive products such as a Vehicle, were exclusively made by parents while children had to sit and wait for parents to display what they have purchased without any participation from children. Well, today the world has changed thanks to effects of digitization and the evolvement of parental cultural norms.

Presently, you would agree that the changing of times has given way to “change in the decision making” process/units in most family structures.  Children are no longer at the backstage in family buying decisions making process. Most household purchases are influenced by children from games, TV (films and cartoons) to other media stations that cause them to develop the world of their own fantasy eventually making the environment more purposeful.
